Leslie Browne

Leslie Browne ( born June 29, 1957 in New York City, New York) is an American ballet dancer and film actress who was nominated for her debut film at the turning point for both the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress as well as the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Biography

The daughter of the dancer and actor Kelly Browne studied post-school drama at the renowned actor training institute HB Studio in Greenwich Village in New York City and was followed from 1976 to 1993 at the American Ballet Theatre as a ballerina works.

In 1977 she played in the movie At the turning point of her godfather, the choreographer and film director Herbert Ross, as " Emilia Rodgers " her first film role, and was nominated for the Academy Awards in 1978 for an Oscar as best supporting actress. In addition, she was also nominated for the 1978 Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor.

After an appearance in an episode of the TV series Happy Days (1978 ) she played then in two additional directed by Herbert Ross dance films namely in Nijinsky (1980) and Giselle - Dancers (1987).

Her brother is the TV producer Kevin Kelly Browne.
