Leslie Holdridge

Leslie Rensselaer Holdridge ( born September 29, 1907 in Ledyard, Connecticut, USA, † June 19, 1999 in Easton, Maryland, United States) was an American botanist and climatologist. He worked in Costa Rica as a tropical forest researchers and created a classification scheme for climate and vegetation zones, which he himself described as "Life Zones" designated.

He is the father of the American composer Lee Holdridge.
