Leslie Jones (editor)

Leslie Jones is an American film editor.

Life

Jones is a daughter of Robert C. Jones, who was also active as an editor. Already her grandfather Harmon Jones had worked as such. Jones himself collected from the late 1980s, first as assistant editor her first experience. Her first major film production as an independent editor was murder in the White House from the year 1997. Following year saw The Thin Red Line, for which she was nominated along with their colleagues Saar Klein and Billy Weber for an Oscar in the category Best Editing. The three also received a nomination for the Eddie Award from the American Cinema Editors.

This was followed by a dozen or more productions in which Jones was involved. The film Punch-Drunk Love from 2002 meant their first collaboration with director Paul Thomas Anderson. This was repeated in 2012 with The Master. With her ​​colleague Peter McNulty she received at the Chicago Film Critics Association Awards 2012 nomination in the category Best Editing, as well as in the online Film Critics Society Awards in 2013. Inherent Vice with another collaboration with Paul Thomas Anderson has been announced for 2014.
