Lessona

Lessona is a town with 2497 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Biella, Piedmont. The community gives the homonymous wine its name.

Viniculture

In the municipality of Lessona the same red wine also grown with the status of DOC ( since 3 December 1976). Although Lessona belongs to the province of Biella, the vineyards lie partly in the province of Vercelli. 3 wineries share the 6.45 ha of vineyards. It is pressed in the main, from the grape Nebbiolo (75% ) with the addition of the variety Vespolina and Bonarda.
