Letov Å -3

The aircraft Letov Š -3 is a single-engine single-seat high-wing monoplane that was developed as a fighter. The first flight of the machine took place in 1922. The design resulted from Alois Smolik. The machine was mostly built from wood that has been covered with fabric. The machine only had a pilot's seat. The machine guns that employed the pilot, were staring straight forward.

The machine showed good speed flight services, but the military had no confidence in the Eindeckerausführung. That's why the project was not pursued after two prototypes; the biplane Letov Š -4 was instead promoted. However, the wings of the Letov Š -3 were used in the Letov Š -12 again.
