Lettweiler
Lettweiler is a municipality in the district of Bad Kreuznach in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Meis home.
Geography
The village street is still largely preserved is in the North Palatine Uplands in a side valley of the Glan. In the north, Or Home located at Glan, in the east Obermoschel, to the south and west is Unkenbach Rehborn.
Two miles (air line) east of the town lies to Lettweiler belonging, founded by Mennonite colony Neudorferhof.
History
The place was first mentioned in the year 1194 under the name " Litwilre ". Had Werner II of Bolanden the village as a fief by the Archbishop of Mainz. In the following centuries the rule changed hands several times.
In 1603 the village of Nassau- Saarbrücken was ceded to Palatinate -Zweibrücken, where it remained until the end of the 18th century.
From 1798 to 1814, the village belonged to the canton Obermoschel in the department of Thunder Mountain.
After the Congress of Vienna Lettweiler came in 1816 to the Rhine district in Bavaria, where it remained until the end of World War II. In the Rhineland-Palatinate administrative reform in 1969 it was reclassified by the county Rockhausen in the district of Bad Kreuznach.
In ecclesiastical terms Lettweiler ( Parish Office Or Home / Office of the Dean Obermoschel ) belongs to the Evangelical Church of the Palatinate and the Bishopric of Speyer.

Policy
The local council in Lettweiler consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
Viniculture
Lettweiler has an ancient winemaking tradition. The vineyards are part of the wine region Nahe. Even today there is the winery Erwin Lamb still a winery in the village.
Economy and infrastructure
In Lettweiler there is a sports field and a multipurpose hall. In the southeast, the highway runs 420 In Staudernheim is a station on the railway line Bingen- Saarbrücken.
