Leuce (mythology)

Leuke was a nymph who the God of the underworld - was persecuted and harassed - Hades. The wife of Hades, Persephone rescued the girl by making it into a white poplar, the white poplar, transformed.

A similar incident had happened before, when Hades wanted to seduce the nymph Minthe with the splendor of his golden car. Again, Persephone intervened and transformed the nymph into a sweet -smelling herb ( mint ).
