Leung Ting

Leung Ting ( pronunciation ( hochchin. ) Liang Ting, pronunciation ( upright). Löing Ting, born February 28, 1947 Hong Kong) is a martial artist of a branch of Chinese martial art Wing Chun, whom he protected him in the U.S. named Leung Ting WingTsun Leung Ting WingTsun Kung Fu or represents. He is the founder and head of the International Wing Tsun Association ( IWTA ).

Life

He says that he learned Wing Chun since he was 13. His first teacher was Leung Sheung, the first official student of Yip Man in Hong Kong.

The " successor dispute" and the replaced head

Leung Ting has one trained by its own account in the final years of Yip at this. The duration and intensity of the training rule disputes between Leung Ting and another of Yip Man's students. He describes himself as a closed-door student of Yip Man.

In the early 70s, some other students of Yip Man, Leung Ting accused that he had mistakenly called the " head of the Wing Chun school" and " carrier of 8th Dan in Wing Chun " means. Leung Ting vehemently denies ever having uttered so.

The controversy deepened later by an allegedly manipulated photo Leung Ting and Yip Man shows together. The photo was originally published in the magazine New Martial Hero and shows Yip Man with the chief editor of the New Martial Hero. Later that same photo appeared with replaced heads and showed Leung Ting next Yip Man. Leung Ting denies the accusation and refers to many other photos that show him with Yip Man, and to the photographer who made the original photo and Leung Ting's account is based.

WingTsun

Leung Ting used for his martial arts style the name WingTsun ( note the lack of spaces between words ) that a possible Romanization of Chinese characters for the martial arts (Chinese咏 春/咏 春, Pinyin yǒng Chun, Cantonese wing chun, prices for spring ') represents.

In addition, Leung Ting head of which he founded, Hong Kong-based International WingTsun Association ( IWTA ). In the grading system introduced by him, he has held the highest rank. Leung Ting and had numerous students all over the world, of which founded many schools and even later own associations modeled on the IWTA. Some of these associations are now a competition as to IWTA and use your own, of them protected as a brand spellings of martial arts. The most commercially successful of his students is the German Keith Kernspecht, which in turn founded the EWTO (European WingTsun Organisation) as a branch of IWTA and forwards.

In 2009, Leung Ting was accused by his partner because of abuse. On 29 April 2010 he was acquitted in the second instance of the allegations.
