The Leutra is an approximately 10 km long river in the Saale- wood - country circuit and in the southern area of ​​the independent city of Jena in Thuringia. It has its source at Milda and then flows in an easterly direction substantially parallel to the A 4 by the Jena Districts Leutra and Maua. It flows east of Maua in the Saale.

The Leutratal is part of the nature reserve Leutratal and Cospoth.

A distinction is Leutra from the same stream, which flows a few miles down the Saale in this. Those Leutra flows west of Jena by the Mill Valley through, will run underground in the city area and then flows in the vicinity of the Jena Paradies train station in the Saale.
