Levante, Spain

In Spain, the term referred to Levante ( Spanish for " Sunrise ", allegorically for "east" ), the east coast of the Iberian Peninsula and its hinterland.

In the Catalan language called ( català: Llevant ) the wind component of east winds that hit the coast.

Llevant is the geographical term for the landscape zones on the Balearic island of Mallorca.
