Levellers (band)

The Levellers are a band from England. Their music combines elements of rock and punk with traditional folk and Celtic sounds. In their lyrics, the band is often a critical look at the social conditions in the UK and general social developments.

Were founded in The Levellers in 1988 in Brighton by Jeremy Cunningham, Charlie Heather, Jon Sevink and Mark Chadwick. With the band's name, they refer to the English democratic movement of the Levellers from the mid-17th century.

Their album Levelling the Land was a best seller in the early 1990s, went to number 14 in the UK album charts, though they were renamed on the independent label China Records. In 2012 they laid after four year break a new album, Static on the airwaves before. On European tour you deal with that in October with performances in Vienna, Paris, Nijmegen, Stuttgart and Frankfurt am Main.
