Levente Szuper

Levente Szuper (Hungarian Levente Szuper; born June 11, 1980 in Budapest) is a Hungarian ice hockey goaltender who is under contract with HK Arystan Temirtau in the Kazakh Hockey Championship since January 2012.

Career

Levente Szuper began his career in the 1996/97 season at the Hungarian first division Ferencvárosi TC, with whom he immediately won the Hungarian championship in his rookie year. Soon after, he joined the German junior league to the Krefeld Penguins. In 1998, the goalkeeper to North America and played two seasons for the Ottawa 67 's in the Ontario Hockey League, where he showed consistent and good, although it has the ice age with Seamus Kotyk had to share. In his first season in Ottawa he could win with his team the Memorial Cup in 1999. In addition, he received the FW " Dinty " Moore Trophy as a rookie with the lowest Gegentorschnitt the OHL. As early as 1999 there was talk of him as a promising candidate for the NHL Entry Draft, but this was fulfilled only in 2000.

There followed three seasons for the Saint John Flames of the American Hockey League, with which in the season 2000/ 01 the Calder Cup was won by the Hungarian. In 2000, he was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the fourth round as 116, but arrived in the NHL never to use one, even though the links catcher was nine times set as a backup goalkeeper. In the season 2003/ 04 followed inserts for the Worcester IceCats in the AHL and the Peoria Rivermen in the ECHL, before he returned to Europe and the Hungarian League for Dunaújvárosi Acélbikák.

2005/ 06 Levente Szuper played its first match in the Italian Serie A, where he ran aground on Asiago, but changed the following year in the DEL for the foxes Duisburg and finally before the end of the season to the Malmö Redhawks in the Swedish Elitserien, where he but could not prevail. So the final man returned for the season 2007/ 08 back to Italy, where he worked for HC Milano Vipers. In the 2008 /09 season Szuper played for the Hungarian club Alba Volán Székesfehérvár in the Austrian Hockey League. In the 2009/10 season, the goalkeeper for Hannover Scorpions went on in the German Ice Hockey League, with whom he immediately became German champion as a substitute.

In October 2010 Szuper signed for the 2010/11 season a contract with the Arizona Sundogs of the Central Hockey League, where he was subsequently goalkeeper. In January 2012 he transferred within the Central Hockey League to the Missouri Mavericks, but for which he is just a game played before he joined the HK Arystan Temirtau from the Kazakhstan championship.

Internationally

For Hungary Szuper participated in the C- 1998 World Cup, the B World Championships in 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2011 and the A- 2009 World Championships in part. At the World Championships he won numerous individual awards as the first goalkeeper of Hungary.
