Lewis Goldberg

Lewis R. Goldberg is an American psychologist and professor at the University of Oregon.

He became famous for his involvement in the investigation of the Big Five model ( postulated five main dimensions of personality ).

After the factor analytic pioneering work of Allport and Odbert (1936 ) and of Tupes and Christal (1961) and Norman (1963 ) (based on the Sedimentationshypothese ) fell into oblivion, Goldberg began with its own lexical project, and was the 5 factors independently confirm. He brought back into the model so that the focus of research and coined the term "Big Five".

In 1953, Goldberg his Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University. Later the PhD in psychology at the University of Michigan (1958).
