Lewis R. Bradley

Lewis Rice "Broad Horns" Bradley (* February 15, 1805 in Orange County, Virginia; † March 21, 1879 in Elko, Nevada ) was an American politician and Governor of the State of Nevada.

Early years and political rise

Lewis Bradley attended the public schools of his home in Virginia. He then worked in the cattle trade and as a mule trader. In 1870, Bradley was chosen as the Democratic Party candidate for Governor of Nevada, where he prevailed with 53.9 percent of the vote against Frederick Augustus Tritle.
