Lexington is a village in Richland County in the U.S. state of Ohio. Lexington has 4,165 inhabitants ( 2000 census ) in an area of 9.5 km ². Lexington is about 10 km southwest of Mansfield and about 90 km north-east of the federal capital, Columbus.

The Village of Lexington was founded in 1813 by Amariah Watson, who came from Bakersville / Connecticut. Amariah Watson named the village in honor of the city of Lexington in Massachusetts, where the American War of Independence began. The town is also the birthplace of William C. Grimes, a politician and Governor of Oklahoma Territory.
