Leyat was a French manufacturer of automobiles.
Company History
Marcel Leyat (1885-1986) began in 1913 with the construction of unusual automobiles in small series. The brand name was Leyat, occasionally HELICA. 1927 production ended. A total of about 30 cars formed.
Rolling stock
The body was modeled on an aircraft fuselage and had no fenders. There was an air-cooled two-cylinder engine installation of ABC used, which was later replaced by a three -cylinder engine. Instead of a power transmission by means of cardan chain or on an axis had the vehicles at the bow a large propeller.
A car of this brand is on display at the Musée des Arts et Métiers in Paris.
