LF Basket Norrbotten

LF Basket Norrbotten is a Swedish basketball club from Luleå. Under the name Plannja Basket Lulea of the Swedish basketball club seven times champion.


The club was founded in 1976 as Plannja Basket Lulea. LF Basket is a founding member of the Svenska Basketligan, which replaced the previous highest Swedish basketball league, the Elitserien for the 1992/93 season.

LF Basket had between 1997 and up to the year of the name change in 2007, a successful era in the club seven Swedish basketball champion and always reached the play-offs. Then you came into financial difficulties, but still remained at the top of the table, and in 2010 was runner-up.

With 19 completed seasons the club played since the leagues founding continuously in the Svenska basket ligan and is in the eternal table the first place.

European Cup

Between 1995 and 1997, the club took part in the three Korać Cup, where they each retired early. 1998 they played in the European Cup Winners' Cup ( EuroCup ), in the last one was in the first group stage and was eliminated. In the following two seasons, the club took on again at this, now Saporta Cup -called second most important European Basketball Cup in part, without to survive the first round. 2000/ 01 was allowed to participate as a Swedish champion at the Suproleague. In a group of ten LF Basket finished last and failed again soon. Even with the so far last European Cup participation of the club in 2002 flew in the FIBA EuroCup Challenge to get up early.


The club plays its home games from the comprehensive 3000 Pontushallen places.

For the 2013/14 season LF Basket moves into the newly Arcushallen.
