LG Display

LG Display is a South Korean company with headquarters in Seoul, South Korea.

The company was founded in 1999 under the name of LG.Philips LCD as a joint venture between the Dutch company Koninklijke Philips Electronics and the South Korean company LG Electronics. It specializes in the manufacture of liquid crystal displays ( LCDs). In July 2004, the company was placed on the stock exchanges in New York and Seoul. In February 2008, changed its name to LG Display was decided by the shareholders, as Philips sold a majority of its shares. On 15 March 2009 Philips sold the last shares.
