LG Electronics
LG Electronics [ ɛldʒɪ ɪlektɹɒnɪks ː ] is a company from South Korea, based in Seoul. It is a subsidiary of the LG Group.
History
The company was a subsidiary of Lucky Chemical Industrial Co. as Goldstar Co., Ltd.. Founded in 1958 and manufactures radios, TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners and vacuum cleaners. 1995 Gold Star was renamed LG Electronics, where LG is the abbreviation of Lucky Goldstar. Often you also find the name LGe, the e stands for Electronics. The current logo was complemented by the added words Life's Good - a retrospective interpretation ability of the company name as an abbreviation, see backronym.
The Group offers products in the areas of information technology, consumer electronics, mobile communications, photovoltaic and household appliances.
LG Electronics is the world market leader in mobile phones after the CDMA2000 standard. The subsidiary LG Display is according to Samsung 's second-largest manufacturer of liquid crystal displays ( LCDs). In addition, LG is the market leader in the field of CD -ROM drives.

In Germany, the subsidiary LG Electronics, based in Ratingen Germany (North Rhine -Westphalia) is ( previously Willich, Moving October 2011) since 1976. The Austrian company headquarters is located in Vienna.
