LGBT rights in Angola

In Angola, homosexuality is taboo in parts of the society and homosexual acts are punishable in Angola. Articles 70 and 71 of the Penal Code prohibit Angolan private, voluntary homosexual acts between adults as " offense against public morality to ". Criminal laws passed for the first time since the Portuguese colonization and were adopted after the independence of Angola. Because of the illegality, there are no LGBT communities in Angola. Homosexuals are thus pushed into the social base.
