Li Ao (philosopher)

Li Ao (* 772, † 841 ) was a Reformkonfuzianer around the turn of the 9th century AD

Li Ao was a friend of Han Yu also reformkonfuzianisch set. Both criticized the forming after the An- Lushan rebellion mixed culture with Buddhist- Manichaean and Nestorian elements. In January 809 Li Ao Luoyang left and traveled by ship from the Huang He in the neighborhood of Canton, proceeding to take up a government post.
