Li Ju

Li Ju (Chinese李菊, Pinyin lǐ Jú ) ( born January 22, 1976 in Nantong ) is a Chinese table tennis player. She won several titles at the World Championships, she is in a double Olympic gold medalist.

Career

Li Ju plays right-handed with the shakehand service grip. At seven, she began with the table tennis sport.

Li Jus biggest international successes fall in the period from 1995 to 2004. She was nominated eight times for the World Championships. She reached with her partner Wang Nan in 1997 double the final, in 1999 and 2001 they were world champions. With the Chinese team won four gold medals, namely 1997, 2000, 2001 and 2004.

In the ITTF Pro Tour series, it reached 1996 to 2000 each time the Grand Finals. She was 1996 and 1999 in a single second, in 1997, she won the individual competition. With Wang Nan they won the double from 1997 to 1999 three times in a row. In 2000 she qualified for the Olympic Summer Games. Here she won a silver medal in singles and the gold medal in doubles with Wang Nan.

1998/99 Ju Li was obliged by the German Bundesliga club TTC Langweid. However, it was only used in three major team battles, namely in a semifinal and in the two playoffs. They scored in the singles a balance of 3:3.

In the ITTF World Ranking Li Ju was conducted in 2001 at number two.
