Li Kongzheng

Li Kongzheng (Chinese李 孔 政, Pinyin lǐ Kǒngzhèng, born May 4, 1959) is a former Chinese diver. He jumped first in the 10 -meter platform diving, and later also in the art of jumping from the 3 -meter board. Li participated in two Olympic Games, winning a medal. Also in World Championships he was able to win a medal.

Li learned the water jump at a sports school in Beijing. At 15, he took part in the Tehran Asian Games and won the 10 - m tower immediately awarded the gold medal. Also in the following Asian Games in 1978 in Bangkok and 1982 in Delhi but he could each win a medal, this time from the 3 -meter board. At the World Cup 1982 in Guayaquil, he missed fourth from the 3- m- board and sixth from the 10 m tower a medal scarce. In Los Angeles, he played in 1984, his first Olympic Games, the 10 - m tower, he won the bronze medal. Also in the 1986 World Cup in Madrid, he won again a medal with silver from the tower. His last international competition, he finally played at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, where he again finished sixth of 10 m tower.

After his playing career Kongzheng Li worked as a trainer for the U.S. federation. He was first at the University of Minnesota worked, later on the power center in Columbus. Some years he coached the Australian national team in Melbourne. Since 2010 he has worked as a coach of the University of Michigan.
