Li Xiaopeng (gymnast)

Li Xiaopeng ,李小鹏, lǐ Xiǎopéng, (born 27 July 1981 in Changsha, Hunan ) is a Chinese gymnast.

Life

Li trained initially for 6 years at a sports school in Hunan and was aged 12 years member of the provincial teams Hunan at the gymnasts. At 15, he was sent to the National Team of the Chinese.

His prime instrument is the ingot, but he also achieved great success at the jump. Between 1997 and 2008, he won numerous national and international competitions in gymnastics. In 2000 he won at the Olympic Summer Games 2000 in Sydney gold with the team and the individual on the parallel bars. At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Bronze Li reached on bars and he succeeded at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, the gold medal in singles at the bars as well as gold in the team of the Chinese gymnasts.

To this day, Li was eight times world champion in gymnastics, more than any other gymnast in China. This includes two titles on bars, three on vault and three with the team. On the ground, Xiaopeng won a world championship bronze medal and a World Cup.
