Li Yan (snooker player)

Li Yan ( born September 17, 1992) is a Chinese snooker player.

Career

. Li Yan was awarded as one of the most talented young players in China wildcards for the Shanghai Masters tournaments in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and for the China Open 2008 and 2009, it once - at the Shanghai Masters 2009 - he won his opening match against Gerard Greene also; was defeated in the round of last 32 but then Ryan Day.

In the second tournament of the Q School, he finally was able to earn a place on the Main Tour Snooker Season 2011/12.

There he had a very good start. Through victory over Stuart Carrington, Andy Hicks, Jack Lisowski and Fergal O'Brien he qualified for the main round of the UK Championship in 2011. There he defeated former world champion Shaun Murphy 6-3. By further good results in the PTC series, he improved in the Snooker world rankings already ranked 64th

On August 19, 2012 Li played his first match in qualifying for the International Championship of 2012. Spite of a Century Breaks of 117 points he lost at the end just with 5:6 against his compatriot Zhang Anda.
