Liancourt
Liancourt is a commune with 7207 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Oise in the Picardie region. It belongs to the district and Clermont to Canton Liancourt.
History
Liancourt belonged from the 17th century to the possession of the La Rochefoucauld family, who bore the title of Duke of Liancourt 1765. François XII. de La Rochefoucauld (1747-1827) founded 1776 in Liancourt a school for educating orphans who became the first " Ecole des Arts et Metiers " in France.
