Liang Guanglie

Liang Guanglie (* December 1940 in Santai ) is a Chinese general and politician.

Liang came in 1958 with the army. He was from December 1993 to July 1995 Chief of Staff of the military region of Beijing. From December 1997 to December 1999, he was a commander in the Shenyang region and from December 1999 to November 2002 in Nanjing.

From 2002 to 2007 he was Chief of the General Staff of the People 's Liberation Army, then from 2008 to 2012 Minister of Defence of People's Republic of China and a member of the Central Military Commission. Since 2013 he is no longer a member of the Central Committee of the CCP.
