Libby Clegg

Elizabeth Clegg (born 24 March 1990 in Bollington, Cheshire East) is a British track and field athlete who specializes in the sprint in the 100 and 200 meters. The visually impaired athlete is classified by the International Paralympic Committee in group T12 and starts with an accompanying runners. In her youth she trained mostly with non-disabled fellow club members. Even when the family moved to Scotland in 2002 and Clegg visited the Edinburgh Royal Blind School, she kept this practice at the Edinburgh AC at first. Her mother was looking for her but soon disabled sports competitions. She won as a result the British Blind Junior Championship and also participated in cross races. In 2010 she moved to Loughborough to train at the city's National Performance Centre of the UK Athletics.

Your first big success they could celebrate at the World Athletics Championships in Assen, Netherlands, when she won the silver medal over 200 meters at the age of 16 years. In the Paralympic Summer Games in Beijing in 2008, she represented her native country over both sprint distances and secured in the shorter second place. Three years later, at the 2011 World Championships in Christchurch, it was about 100 meters world champion in its class and also claimed her place on the podium more than 200 meters.
