Libčeves

Libčeves ( German Liebshausen ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic with 874 inhabitants, of whom about 500 live in the main village. It has an area of ​​3,468 hectares and is owned by the Okres Louny on.

Geography

The place is located 11 km northeast of Louny in the southwest of the Bohemian Uplands. It is situated at 300 m asl brook in the valley of Hrádecký. North leads the state road 15 past and to the south the railway Most - Lovosice. East of Libčeves is the local mountain of the place, the vrch 449 m high Křížový. Neighboring towns are Všechlapy in the north, Lahovice in the northeast, southeast, and Židovice in Jablonec and Hořenec in the West.

History

According to ancient histories Libčeves to have been already settled around 1200, but this can not be documented evidence. This information is confirmed by the age of the Church of John the Baptist, for which the master and a tower construction period 1220-1230 as secured applies. The first mention of Lubschenecz was named in 1251 as Protivec of Libčeves as the owner of a country farm. For 200 years, the village belonged to the Vřesovice of Vřesovice and then the of Žirotín. In the middle of the 15th century inherited the family of Lobkowicz Libčeves and remained for 400 years owner of the place.

Until the 17th century Libčeves belonged to the Czech settlement area. During and after the Thirty Years' War, an increased influx of Germans in the heavily depopulated place began. At the time of creation of Berni rula both communities were half each resident. From 1656, the name was in use Liebshausen 1664 presented the Germans already 2/3 of the population and from 1742 sermons were held in the church only in German language. Since the 18th century was the seat of a Libčeves Gutsverwaltung for the large estates. After the abolition of serfdom in 1781 originated in the reign of glass factories, distilleries and the stately castle nursery. In Sinutz two brick factories were built.

1820 was the establishment of a k.k. Coaching with Ausspanne in which today the municipal office is located. In imperial order was made in 1821 the breeding of horses required in Schelkowitz. On the manorial estates 1830 376 horses, 2,600 cattle and 7,500 sheep were held. For large estates, the 18.4 -acre pheasant was on Hrádecký creek southwest of the village with the cabin, as well as the stately home and a customs house for the toll. In Liebshausen 139 craftsmen and tradesmen lived but also 62 arms. 1898 began the Brüx corporation with the construction of the local train from Tschischkowitz after Obernitz, with the Liebshausen also got a rail connection. At the parish church of John the Baptist the villages Charwatz, Noynitz, Lahowitz, Schelkowitz, Schiedowitz and Leskay were gepfarrt.

In the 1920s, has been curtailed by land reforms of the large estates of the Lobkowicz by the state. 1935 lived in Liebshausen with his district Wschechlab 1,278 people, of whom 885 were German. After the Second World War, the Germans were expropriated and distributed. The land reform of 1947, the firm wrote to a maximum land of 50 ha, was the nationalization of the large estates of the princes of Lobkowicz.

1993 received the previous districts Kozly and Želkovice back their independence.
