Liberale da Verona

Liberal da Verona (* 1441 or 1451 in Verona, † 1526 or 1529 or August 12, 1536 ) was an Italian painter and miniature collector.

Life

Liberals learned in Verona, settled in Padua from Andrea Mantegna influence and worked from 1467 to 1474 mostly in Siena, where he illustrated the books of the Cathedral Library. Liberals returned to 1488 back to Verona and built a successful workshop. His later style is characterized by rhythmic strokes and vivid colors and is so unlike Mantegna classical.
