Liberty is an American silent film of Laurel & Hardy from the year 1929. The film was one of her last silent films and premiered on 26 January 1929. Besides Liberty is probably one of the most breathtaking Laurel & Hardy films.

Action

Stan and Ollie are prisoners and straight on the run from a police officer. First, they provide a chase, in which the two accidentally mix up their pants and Stan a cancer falls in the pants when restoring Exchange at the fish market. Finally, they get to the construction site of a skyscraper and come again accidentally by a lift to the top. Only after the lift descends again they realize that they are in about 25 meters in height and must now be a ladder on the other side. On their ( short ) way makes them not only the cancer in Stans (actually Ollies ) trousers to create the partially unstable poles and boards create so many curiosities. The climax is reached when Stan leans against a post that folds away then, and which means that Stan hangs tottering above the meter-high precipice. At the end, they reach but unharmed the lift down and ram the police so there lurking in the ground that this loses about half of its body size.
