The Liberty Stadium ( Welsh: Stadiwm Liberty ), before opening as a New Stadium known and referred to by many fans White Rock, is a football stadium in Swansea, Wales.

History

The sports facility located in Landore district is host to the home matches of the football team of Swansea City and the Ospreys rugby team. The stadium has, as usual in the United Kingdom after the Taylor Report, exclusively on seats and offers 20,520 spectators. Construction of the stadium was the summer of 2003. Completion of the 27- million pound project in July 2005. On 23 July 2005, Swansea City parted and Fulham in the opening match 1-1.

The field is equipped with a drainage system and a soil heating. The natural grass has been reinforced with 20 million artificial grass fibers interwoven to the double burden of football and rugby to withstand. Access to the stadium is via one of the 30 entrances with turnstiles. In addition, inter alia, the stadium 12 lifts and 200 toilets.

During construction, the name of the stadium was sought and the project was therefore given the neutral name New Stadium. A survey among the supporters of Swansea City revealed as winners White Rock. However, it was announced on 18 October 2005 that the stadium should be named after the main sponsor Liberty Properties. Many fans refer to the stadium anyway as White Rock.
