Libočany

Libočany ( German Libotschan ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located three kilometers north-west of Žatec on ​​Liboc and belongs to the micro-region Žatecko and the Okres Louny.

Geography

Libočany located to the right of Eger on the Liboc, which flows below the town in the Eger. Through the village leads the state road 225 between Žatec and Kadan and the railway from Postoloprty after Podbořany. South of the village lies the airfield Žatec Libočany.

Neighboring towns are Stroupeč and zahori in the north, Velichov in the northeast, Žatec the east and southeast, and Čeradice Žabokliky in the southwest and Nové Saddleback in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1226 as a possession of the monastery Doksany. At the beginning of the 16th century was the gender of the Hájek z Libočan owner of Libočany, followed them Bohuslav Felix von Lobkowitz and hatred stone. The first evidence for the existence of a fortress dates from the year 1595. 1602 acquired Christoph von Duppau the reign of Johann Waldemar von Waldstein. After the Battle of White Mountain Purchased Jaroslav Borsita Martinic of the confiscated property of William Duppaus and sold Libočany 1623 to Florian Dietrich von Saar. 1653 Libočany went on through marriage to the Saaz Governor Maximilian von Schönfeld. Other owners were the Příchovský z Příchovic and from 1690 the Knights of Janinall.

1740 acquired Wenzel Karl Schroll Schroll mountain of the manorial system, leaving in 1770 to rebuild the old festivals to Baroque castle, around which a park was created. 1779 inherited Anna Marie and Franz Anton von Weinberger possession. About Wenzel Jenik Knights of Gamsendorf got possession in 1806 to Josef Schreitter of black box. After the replacement of patrimonial Libotschan was in 1850 with the district Horkau an independent village. In the 19th century the castle belonged to the music publisher Franz Weinhardt.
