Libor Došek

Libor Došek ( born April 24, 1978 in Brno, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech football player.

Career

Libor Došek played in his youth for Zbrojovka Brno, the renamed in 1992 in FC Boby Brno. In 1997, he was loaned to second division side FC Synot for which the striker made ​​27 games and scored nine goals. He returned to Brno back, played twice for the Erstligamannschaft and was again loaned out to FC Synot. In eleven games Došek get three hits. During the winter break of the season 1998/99 he moved to Chmel Blšany where he completed 32 games in a year, thereby pass him five goals. In January 2000 he finally returned to Brno and earned a regular place there. Here, the 1.99 meter tall striker scored 29 times in 102 matches.

In 2000 he took part in the Olympic Games in Sydney with the Czech Republic. In the decisive group game against Cameroon, he missed a big chance this error paved the later gold medalist their way into the quarter-finals.

His father Libor Došek senior played for Zbrojovka Brno, which from 1976 - 1983 in the 1st Czechoslovak league. In 1978 he became Czechoslovak champion. His mother is responsible for ticket sales at the 1 FC Brno. Because of its size, it is often compared with Jan Koller. He is not related to the football players and twins Lukáš Došek and Tomáš Došek.
