Libor Sionko

Libor Sionko ( born February 1, 1977 in Ostrava ) is a former Czech football player.

Club career

In the season 1999/2000 he came from Banik Ostrava Sparta Prague, where he was champion and National team players and Champions League experience gained. After a dispute with the club management, he moved to Spring 2004 season on loan to Grazer AK. The Grazer Athletikern he was instrumental in Double income for 2004 involved. In the summer of 2004 was Sionko Players of FK Austria Wien, where he helped drive strong performance that the team was able to advance to the quarter- finals of the UEFA Cup.

After reaching a low in the autumn season 2005/2006 Sionko launched in the spring through again and had contributed significantly to the 23 championship title of FK Austria Wien. Since Austria option on contract extension is not pulled, Libor Sionko signed on 16 May 2006 a three -year contract with the Rangers. End of July 2007 Sionko moved to FC Copenhagen. In January 2010 Sionko returned to the Czech Republic and joined Sparta Prague. With Sparta, he won the Czech Cup in 2010. In the summer of 2012, he left the club when his contract expired. After he could not find a new club, he finished his career on August 27, 2012.

National

Despite good performances it was not included in 2006 for the Czech World Cup team first, but then re-nominated for the injured Vladimír Šmicer. In the group match against Ghana Sionko came in to replace Jaroslav Plašil in 68 minutes.

Sionko was also nominated for the 2008 European Championship. In the 1-3 defeat against Portugal in the group stage, the midfielder scored the temporary equalizer.
