GPLv2 vs. GPLv3 incompatibility

As part of the introduction of GPLv3 2007, this license has been extended so that it was in principle incompatible with the previous version. This means that vorhandenene projects, which for some reason still can not upgrade to GPLv3 or the " or later" clause have not incompatible with GPLv3 software and can not source code with this replace (at the most known of the Linux kernel). Since LibreCAD (and FreeCAD ) GPLv2 - licensed source code contains, the GNU LibreDWG library, which was changed to the GPLv3, now no longer be used. The attempt at the FSF to achieve a relicensing or conveying failed.
