Lice ( zazaisch Lice, Kurdish Piran) is a small town in Turkey's Diyarbakir Province and capital of the homonymous district. Lice is 95 km from the city of Diyarbakir. For centuries Lice was a village in the vicinity of the larger and more significant Antak Fortress. However, with time lost the fortress in importance and in turn Lice became increasingly important. In the town of Lice 11,271 people ( as of 2012).

Lice lay on top of a hill, until an earthquake destroyed it on September 6, 1975. The place was built on the foot of the hill in the valley again.

County

The district is located in the north of the province, bordering the province of Bingöl. The area is 1083 km ² with a population of 27,414, almost solely operates agriculture and livestock. The district consists of two districts, 13 districts ( Mahalle ), 57 villages and 112 hamlets.
