Lickershamn

Lickershamn is a small fishing place, located 24.5 km north of Visby and south of the bay Ireviken the nature reserve of Björkume on the northwest coast of the Swedish island of Gotland in the parish Stenkyrka.

The sights of the town are the Raukar some of which can be seen in the pine forest on both sides of the access road that branches off from the road 149 to the beach. They are proof of the fact that the coastline was once much further inland. With seven meters to the ground and 23 m above the sea is the Jungfrun on Klint, above the cliffs, the largest Rauk the island. Hikers can forest and heathland go from Jungfrunklint by a top of the cliffs, or descend from the pebbly beach.

In Lickershamn it is worthwhile to sift through the pebbles and rattling stones on the beach. Rare chance to fossil finds is better than here. To yield include trilobites, button coral, shells, etc., all relics of a 400 million year old tropical sea.

In the north of the town there is a campground.
