Liddington Castle

Liddington Castle is situated on an elevated hill fort in the village of Liddington in the English county of Wiltshire.

Ditch and rampart of about 3 acre site, believed to date from the Iron Age and are well preserved visible. The entrance is in the east.

With 275 feet above sea level is the highest elevation in the Borough of Swindon. A few hundred meters north of The Ridgeway runs in east-west direction.

Excavations took place in 1976 by ​​Susan Hirst and Philip Rahtz. Notes on the legendary battle of Badon were not found.
