Lidia Borda

Lidia Borda ( born April 18, 1966 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine tango singer.

Borda studied art, drama and singing and gained his first experience as an actress in the alternative scene of Buenos Aires. Through his friendship with Luis Cardei she became interested in tango music, and she earned a repertoire of tango compositions from the 1930s and 1940s, including many which are composed by women or been sung and were largely forgotten.

She debuted in 1995 as a singer, accompanied by her brother, guitarist Luis Borda and the bandoneon player Héctor Del Curto. In 1996 their debut album Entre sueños. Published in 1999 Patio de tango with the singer and guitarist Brian Chambouleyron. She also appeared in the 1990s at festivals in Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Germany and Norway. In Buenos Aires, she participated at the Festival Internacional de Tango.

In 2005 she was " female tango singer " was awarded an honorary diploma from the Konex Prize in the category.
