The state election in Liechtenstein in 2009 was held on 6 and 8 February 2009. All 25 seats in the Liechtenstein Landtag were newly appointed.
The liberal-conservative Fatherland Union ( VU ) reached an increased vote of 9.4 percentage points compared to the parliamentary elections in Liechtenstein in 2005 a profit of 47.6 %, which corresponded to 13 of the 25 seats. She received 95 219 votes. The conservative Progressive Citizens' Party in Liechtenstein (FBP ) won 43.5 % of the vote (-5.2 percentage points). Otmar Hasler entered then return as head of government. His party received 86 951 votes. The green Free List reached 8.9% (-4.1 percentage points) and only one seat, the voter turnout was 84.6 %.
