Lieg

Lie is a municipality in the district Cochem-Zell, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Treis- carding.

Geography

The village is situated on a ridge between the valleys of Lützbachs and the small brook on the northern edge of the Hunsrück, about eight kilometers from the Mosel. Through the village passes the highway 108 connecting the Mosel ( Treis- carding ) with the Vorderhunsrück ( Kastellaun ).

History

The environment of sun has been inhabited since the Neolithic period, as finds of stone axes show.
