Lierde is a Belgian municipality located in the Denderstreek in the Flanders region with 6542 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012). It has no real center but consists of four districts Deftinge, Hemelveerdegem, Sint -Maria- Lierde and Sint -Martens- Lierde.

Geraardsbergen located 4 km south, Zottegem, 7 km north, Oudenaarde 17 km west, Aalst 19 km northeast, Gent 26 km north-northwest of Brussels and 40 kilometers east (all figures in a straight line from any center of the community, to the respective city centers).

The next highway exits are located at Erpe -Mere and Aalst to the A10 / E40 Lierde has a regional railway station on the route Geraardsbergegen - Lierde - Ghent.
