Lierse SK

The Lierse SK ( Koninklijke Lierse Sportkring ) is a Belgian football club based in the province of Antwerp, which was founded on March 6, 1906. The club colors of the club are yellow and black. The club plays its home games at the Herman Vanderpoortenstadion in Lier from. The stadium has a capacity of 15,500 seats ( 10,200 seats, 5,300 standing).

The club won the Belgian championship four times, in 1940 and 1941, was also in an unofficial Master Lap.

The club was purchased and its debts from the Egyptian businessman Maged Samy, who also owns the Wadi Degla Sporting Club in Egypt.

The fans, as well as the inhabitants of the town of Lier, as Schapen Koppen (sheep heads) called. This goes back to a legend from the 15th century, in consequence of which the town got a stack of law for livestock.
