Liese (Nuhne)

Liese is a 7.1 km long, north and orographic left tributary of the Nuhne in the eastern part of the Rothaargebirge. The creek flows entirely within the city, in Hochsauerlandkreis in North Rhine -Westphalia town of Hallenberg.

Course

Liese rises in the eastern foothills of the Rothaargebirge Rothaargebirge Nature Park. Nature and Environment

Liese flows to just before the village of Liesen through the nature reserve Liesetal. The 50.3 -acre Naturschutzgerbiet protects the species-rich grasslands, especially oat and burnet - Silgenwiesen, along the Liese until just before the village Liesen. This nature reserve is part of the FFH area Liesetal - Hilmesberg (DE 4717-305 ) of 100 ha and the European bird sanctuary in the system of protected areas Natura 2000, the EU " Medebacher Bay " ( DE 4717-401 ). In Liesetal or on the Liese et al backed Shrike were detected as breeding birds, also black stork and Kingfisher as food guests.
