Liesel Pritzker Simmons

Liesel Matthews ( born March 14, 1984 in Chicago, Illinois, United States Liesel Anne Pritzker ) is a former American child actress.

Life

Liesel Matthews was born into the wealthy Pritzker family. She is one of twelve surviving grandchildren of patriarch Abram Nicholas Pritzker, a financier and industrialist who died in 1986. Her uncle is the founder of the Hyatt hotel chain, and the family heads the Trans Union and the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. The Pritzker family is almost at the top of the list of America's wealthiest families of Forbes magazine, which has been operational since 1982.

She chose the stage name Matthews after her brother Matthew. This was due to a dispute between their parents if they as Liesel Pritzker - Bagley - should be recorded or only as Liesel Pritzker - Bagley is the name of her stepfather. After that, the first name of his brother was - with an appended " s" - to her last name.

Liesel Matthews attended the New Trier High School in Winnetka and graduated from Columbia University in New York. During her first year at college, she filed a lawsuit against her father and the Pritzker family, in which she accused her father of misappropriation of funds, the tion states her and her brother for their opinion.

Beginning of 2005, a settlement was reached between the parties. The details of the settlement were not disclosed. However, it is claimed that Liesel and Matthew Pritzker each nearly 500 million U.S. dollars were awarded. That would make two of the richest young adults in the United States. Liesel Matthews is currently attending the French Cultural Institute in New York and had a stage appearance in Vincent in Brixton. She won for her performance the Theatre World Award.
