Lieutenant Governor of Virginia
The Office of the Lieutenant Governor (Lieutenant Governor ) was created by an amendment to the state constitution in 1851, in the State of Virginia; previously the president of the State Council had acted as deputy of the governor. As governor and lieutenant governor not compete as joint candidates, both incumbents different parties may belong.
