Life (Manga)
Life (Japaneseライフ, Raifu ) was a 2002-2009 ongoing manga series of Japanese illustrator Keiko Suenobu, of the vitamin is derived. It is aimed at young girls and can be assigned to the shōjo genre thus. Life is in its sense of urgency often compared to such Confidential Confessions manga or Eden no Hana.
Action
The high school student Ayumu Shiiba is a rather mediocre student. When she learns that her best friend Shinozuka, the best student of the class, would like to Nishi High School, Ayumu grabs the ambition, as they would like to go with her friend together in the same school. Thus, the two begin to learn together. To keep alive the evening of learning, however, Ayumu stands frequently with the compass. Ayumus notes are finally getting better and surpass that of Shinzouka. It creates the entrance exam; Shinozuka, however, does not, which then breaks up the friendship. And the pain is about Ayumu begins to scratch the arm.
On the Nishi High School is Ayumu befriends her classmate Manami Anzai, but begins to charge Ayumu with their problems. Manami wants to throw in front of a train when her boyfriend Katsumi makes up with her, but held in the last second of Ayumu. As Ayumu finds out that Manami's ex-boyfriend, a quiet, very good and popular student, a sadistic pervert is, the pleasure has to captivate girls to gag and causing them pain, he lures Ayumu into a trap, she ties also and photographed. Use these photos Katsumi puts them under pressure so they do not reveal his secret. Especially bad it is for Ayumu when her mother Katsumi engaged as a tutor for them. She is the best in class and the only one who shows compassion for Ayumu. Ayumu finally finds out that Miki works because her father is sick and they have almost no money. As Ayumu Miki helps once, it is also bullied by the other.
Publications
Life was released in Japan by issue 5/2002 (13 April 2002) to 3/2009 (13 February 2009) in individual chapters in the manga magazine Bessatsu Friend. The Kodansha publishing house brought this single chapter out in 20 anthologies.
The manga, which comprises over 2000 pages, among other things, translated into English and German. The Heyne moved the first twelve anthologies from May 2006 to April 2008 in two monthly intervals in German. The series was discontinued due to unsatisfactory paragraphs.
Success and Awards
The first 16 volumes sold in Japan until February 2008 more than 8.5 million times.
The manga won the 2006 Kodansha Manga Award which in the shōjo category.
Filming
Since 30 June 2007, a drama adaptation of the manga will be shown on the Japanese television station Fuji TV. In the leading role of the Kii Kitano Ayumu acts, while Saki Fukuda Manami embodies.
