Lifewords

The Scripture Gift Mission (now SGM Lifewords ) is a British Christian Missionary Society, which is headquartered in London. It was founded by the printer William Walter, who wanted to make Bibles available for free in 1888. They distributed Bibles, Bible portions, Christian books and manuscripts, especially in the third world world.

2004 were distributed by the Company over seven million Bibles. 90 percent of the distribution took place outside the UK. The distribution and support of the mission is done not only by mission agencies and Christian communities, but also by individuals. Currently, the Scripture Gift Mission in over 25 countries is established. They distributed Bibles in most languages ​​of the world.

In 1945, she distributed to the German prisoners of war in British captivity hundreds of thousands of New Testaments according to the text of the miniature Bible by Franz Eugen Schlachter. Today's Bibles in German-speaking are spending the Good News Bible.
