Dizziness

Under dizziness refers to the lightest form of a quantitative disturbance of consciousness.

The term Quantitative consciousness disorder refers in medicine on the degree of alertness (vigilance ). With dizziness, the clarity of consciousness is preserved, but delayed affected persons react to their environment, thought and action is slowed down and the information acquisition and processing may be limited. Memory, orientation and judgment are reduced. It comes to word-formation disorders.

In quantitatively more severe forms of disturbance of consciousness is referred to as somnolence, stupor and coma.

In contrast, mean Qualitative disturbance of consciousness states of consciousness such as narrowing and shift in consciousness.

Causes

A drowsiness may be a symptom of various health disorders. The reasons are, inter alia, a skull -brain trauma, inflammatory diseases of the brain, poisoning by CNS depressant drugs, alcohol or other drugs, sleep deprivation or metabolic problems, such as in diabetes mellitus, in question.
